Narikoma Group prepare and deliver meals to medical and nursing care facilities every day, and also value the feeling of "tasty". Where does the feeling of "tasty" come from? When you imagine yourself in the future, in what situations do you think you will be eating and saying “tasty”?
The memory of "tasty", it is important. We are sure that everyone has memories of “tasty” in terms of taste, color, and seasonality. We will share the stories that lead to your “tasty” at the Narikoma Group's exhibition. Let's search for “tasty days” from the past to the present and into the future with us!
02Exhibition contents
In the negative films on display, the stories of each season that lead to "tasty" will unfold.
Contents
Experiential contents that trace the memory of "tasty".
This exhibition depicts seasonal stories that are connected to the sensation of “tasty” through negative films. Tracing the memories of the main character (Haru), visitors can experience seasonal food scenes and moments of eating with loved ones, and superimpose them on their own memories of “tasty”.
We have adopted a panel exhibition format that allows visitors to think about each story, each definition of “tasty,” and to talk naturally with each other. Through this interactive exhibition, visitors will explore the question, "What means “tasty”?" and discover new perspectives.
main character:Haru
Spring
Hanami, enjoying cherry blossom viewing with her family under the cherry trees in full bloom is a regular event for Haru. She loved her grandmother's homemade Chirashi Sushi. As time goes by, she is at a nursing home, gazing at the cherry blossoms in full bloom with her grandmother, who is now smaller. As Haru watches her grandmother slowly eat her Chirashi Sushi, she recalls the warmth of family and the happy feelings of enjoying a tasty meal.
Summer
Haru, a new recruit, begins the summer in the apartment she just moved into. Living alone for the first time, she feels lonely, remembering her family back home. Encouraged by a phone call with her mother amidst the bustle of a summer festival, she takes the first step toward a new life.
Autumn
Haru treasures her son's kindergarten drawings. More than a decade after her son drew the picture of “Onigiri Power,” Haru and her husband cheer on their son, who is now a high school ball player. This is a story about a family that feels distant from their rebellious son, but confirms their family bond through cooking onigiri (rice balls).
Winter
The setting is a coffee shop in downtown. Haru, who has grown old, reminisces about the past. Memories of her school days, her travel-loving husband, and her separation from him. While enjoying coffee and milk pudding, she reminisces about lost time and love.
03Reasons for exhibition
People's thoughts create "tasty" in the future.
Digitalization will be increased in the future. Narikoma will contribute to your meal by integrating DX and people's thoughts. In 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, we will focus on the thoughts of people and look at “tasty” from the past to the present and into the future with visitors and people around the world.
1
The passion and technology behind "tasty"
We provide tasty meals so that elderly and hospital patients can experience the “joy of eating”. We devise menus for 365 days a year, and with our technical skills to realize food forms that suit physical functions, we make sure that the food tastes great every day.
2
Social contribution through meal
We are committed to social contribution through meal, aiming to “solve the problems of an aging society” and “revolutionize the meal service business”, such as working to produce safe, secure, and efficient meals in a central kitchen that utilizes ICT and the latest technology, providing meals in times of disaster, and creating jobs in the local community.
3
Questions for us in the future
The society of the future will have many challenges ahead. We must make full use of digital technology to move toward solving these challenges. What kind of food will we find tasty in the future? Narikoma, which has dealt with meals in the medical/nursing care welfare field, will work earnestly toward the “tasty” of the future.
